Embrace the Now: Living Life in Full Bloom

Updated: Oct 24, 2024

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain." - Vivian Greene

Life lately has been an exquisite symphony of experiences, each note striking a chord of joy, gratitude, and empowerment. It's been a journey of discovery, of savoring the present moment instead of endlessly waiting for the perfect tomorrow. It all started with a simple decision—to cultivate new emotions, to pay attention to the moments that ignite happiness within. If I was to describe it in one word, I would say life has been sweet.

I made the decision to feed all my senses with things that make them come to life. It was a simple yet profound choice that set me on a journey of rediscovery—a journey where each moment became an opportunity to awaken to the fullness of life. In this post I share the transformative power of living in the now, and the extraordinary joys that await when we choose to nourish our senses with intention and mindfulness.

One such moment arrived with the introduction to jazz music by my coach, through a song that became the anthem of my newfound zest for life: "Get Lucky" by Karen Souza. The melody resonates with wealth, beauty, and power, filling my being with a sense of abundance and possibility. It's a reminder that happiness isn't a destination but a dance we can choose to engage in every day.

Then came the electrifying release of Taylor Swift's "Fortnight," followed by Vanessa Williams' sultry "Legs (Keep Dancing)," infusing the air with summer vibes and rhythmic energy. And so, I keep on dancing, reveling in the magic of music that speaks to the soul.

But it's not just about melodies; it's about savoring flavors, exploring culinary artistry, and indulging in the simple pleasures of food. Experimenting with spices, creating dishes worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant (lol, my humble opinion here), and presenting them with love and care—each meal becomes a celebration of abundance and a reminder of life's richness.

Beyond the kitchen, I've immersed myself in my passions—writing and coaching—activities that light up my soul and blur the lines between work and play. Personal development has become a cornerstone in which I am committed to invest in yearly, leading to newfound freedom of mind and spirit. By releasing resentment, minimizing complaints, and embracing total ownership of my life, I've unlocked a sense of empowerment that fuels each of my day.

Gratitude has become my guiding light, illuminating the blessings that surround me—the gift of life, health, movement, and senses that allow me to fully experience the world. With each sunrise, I am reminded of the preciousness of existence, of the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.

And then there are the adventures, sparked by the pages of "You Only Live Once" by Lonely Planet—a book that serves as a passport to new experiences and destinations. Exploring unknown places, participating in unfamiliar activities—it's a testament to the richness of life when we dare to step outside our comfort zones.

So, how about you? How has life been lately? In a world filled with distractions and uncertainties, may we all find moments of sweetness, moments that remind us to embrace the now, to dance to the rhythm of our own hearts, and to live life in full bloom.

I will leave you with these lyrics from the song "Legs (keep dancing), I'm still here, still standing, still kicking, in fact, I’m the best I've ever been.

With all my heart,

Salima
