Becoming My Most Successful Self

Most successful people write their autobiographies after they've already achieved wealth, fame, and success. But I’m taking a different approach. I’m writing my story as I live it, inviting you to witness my journey firsthand. This way, you can see how my mindset evolves and how it leads to different outcomes in my life.

Mindset truly is everything. There’s a picture that perfectly illustrates this concept—unfortunately, I can't find it anymore, but let me describe it to you. The image is a collage of four different people looking at the same tree. In the first frame, a man sees only a tree. In the next, another man sees a source of firewood to keep warm. The third person sees the potential for a chair, and the fourth sees the possibility of a house. Four people, one tree, and four completely different perspectives.

This illustrates how our mindset shapes our reality. It reminds me of those individuals who watched birds fly and believed they, too, could soar. Imagine having that kind of vision and belief!

I’ve invested significantly in my mindset—buying courses, attending masterclasses, reading, listening to books, and engaging with podcasts. I’m part of communities and memberships that push me to grow. Yet, every time I learn something new or see things from a fresh perspective, I am humbled by how much there still is to discover. And I feel frustrated, when I am at work surrounded by people who focus on negativity, constantly talking about their sickness or blaming external factors for their struggles.

I, too, have my own set of challenges, but I choose not to dwell on them. Instead, I focus on protecting my mind and energy. That’s why I always skip team outings and carry a book or have a podcast episode ready to be listened to wherever I go. I’ve learned the importance of creating an environment that supports my growth rather than letting negativity pull me down.

It’s essential to figure out how to make your environment work for you instead of complaining about your circumstances. Yes, it can feel lonely at times, but I’d rather spend my time with inspiring figures like Oprah, Arlan Hamilton, Napoleon Hill, Carrie Green, Ava DuVernay, and Eva Longoria—whether through their books or online content—than engage in conversations filled with complaints and blame.

The life you’re living now is a result of a series of decisions you’ve made. If you want a different life, start by examining the thoughts that led to those decisions. Cultivate a mindset that empowers you to make better choices.

Ultimately, it’s about making a decision, committing to it, and doing the daily work to become your most successful self.
