Out with the old, in with the new...

“Be positive. Your mind is more powerful than you think. What is down in the well comes up in the bucket. Fill yourself with positive things.” – Tony Dungy

Own the state of your own life. Look at yourself in the mirror. This is where I am at, and nobody is coming to save me. Excuses are always valid, but they hold you back. The only way to move past it, is to stand in front of the accountability mirror and say to yourself I want to move forward, my current life is the sum of the choices I have made, part of it is to obsess over the trauma, the cards that you were giving to when you come into this life, the hurt, the failure and whatever else happened into your life. If you make what happened your identity, you made it who you are that's where you get stuck. You must reframe the story you tell yourself about yourself. The only belief that matters is my energy and efforts would be rewarded with additional skill sets.

Being unhappy or unsatisfied in life or living a zombie life wasting your potentials is certainly a big enough reason to start taking better care of your life by upgrading the way you think. It may help if you imagine your mind like a garden that you must take care of regularly.

Our minds are very much like a garden. If we care for them, if we cultivate them and if we put in only the best nourishment, they will produce a bounty that will lead us to success. The problem with most people is that they let anything in. They start their days reading negative stories in the newspaper. Then they have negative thoughts while waiting in traffic. Once at work, they focus on all the negative things rather than having the wisdom to search for the positives. And then, at the end of the day, after filling their minds with nothing but the worse input, they wonder why they feel so tired and miserable.

Remember your mind can be either your best friend or your worse enemy. Don’t let weeds take over. Manage your inner morale. Assume full responsibility for attitude control. As you sow, so shall you reap.

If you want to have a beautiful garden, you must take care of it regularly and daily. The same applies to your mind, if you want to have a beautiful mind, you must take care of it daily.
