”When we deny our stories, they define us. When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending.”
– Brené Brown

My goal with this post is to spotlight members of our black community who are making a difference in the world and sharing our black stories honestly. I am constantly fascinated by and in awe of human inventiveness, but lately I have been particularly passionate about Black entrepreneurship and businesses, which are not honored and not made visible enough. People whose stories we can identify with, who are setting the path for future generations, and who are themselves role models. Without further due, here are some black women from various backgrounds who are killing it.
NDINI PODCAST

Zimbabwean founder, Sandra Chuma is a storyteller, keynote speaker, a serial entrepreneur, a multimedia journalist, and award-winning documentary filmmaker, and was selected as the inaugural Documentary Fellow during her time at Columbia University. She believes that stories have the power to shape people's lives. She grew up in Zimbabwe in a tiny mud hut with no running water or electricity. At time where her country was segregated, she remembered struggling to understand why she couldn’t play with kids who had a different skin color than her. Ndini, was born as a space for unbridled optimism and celebration, and lives as a platform to talk about our real heroes, and letting the world know we are more. Find the stories of women who are shaping history and shaking off tired assumptions through our progressive platform and programs. Our candid conversations inspire by capturing the spirit of those who live their truth, unearthing the true potential that we all possess. Through Ndini podcast, Sandra highlights and celebrates the successes of women of color.

Representation matters, representation is power, the amount of media access is increasing, now more than ever, we must ensure that our black community is exposed to content created by us that is aimed to educate and elevate them, impact their perspective and behavior in a positive way, to replace the offensive and stereotypical imagery that the Western media has given our community for decades.
